Portrait Photograph (25 words)

Image
"Afghan Girl"  Photographer: Steve McCurry This portrait was taken in 1985 of a young small Afghan girl which then became the cover of  The National Geographic magazine in 1985. I like this portrait because it is one of thousands of photos that actually portrays whats happening at the current moment the photo was taken. The picture shows the girls emotion as she stares directly through the camera. The torn red scarf hanging over her face makes the portrait both gritt and glamour. There is also an amazing contrast between her green eyes and the red scarf.

Lab 01: Flash Photography

Image
This was the first photo taken for this labs exercise on flash compensation and exposure compensation.  This was the second photo I chose to use, the flash compensation in this photo was around +5, and the exposure was +1. This last photo was taken with the same flash and exposure settings as picture 2 just in a different setting. Learning to use the light in my favour was the most challenging part of this labs exercise.
