Product Shot Assesment
Product Shot Assessment Blog
Who is the client, or company you are representing?
The company I'm going to be representing in my product shot assessment is Nike, one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, and also one of the most iconic sporting brands in history with signature worn all over the world. But in this case it's Nike's sneaker department i'll be representing.
What is the product?
The product I'll be taking product shots for will be a pair of Nike's most iconic pair of sneakers that people have been wearing since the 90's, which is the classic Air Force 1's, however there not their plain white pair, it's a custom pair with all the colors you could think of.
Who is the target audience?
The target audience for this product would be for people between the ages of fifteen to twenty-five, who are always looking to the internet for fashion trends created by celebrities. Also the heavily targeted audience would be the people involved in the sneaker culture who buy shoes for collection and to resell at a high price.
Where would you expect to see this advertisement?
The photos to promote the new pair of sneakers will be heavily posted on all social media platforms including Instagram and adverts on YouTube so that's the targets demographic as there is a huge sub-culture of sneaker heads on these platforms, along with being promoted on sneakers re-sale sites such as stock-x.com, and sneaker resell accounts on apps such as Instagram.
What kind of lighting are you going to use to make this look professional?
Due to the situation right now we are not able to use the college's professional lighting set up, so I'll be forced to make a D.I.Y lighting set up from tutorials provided by our teacher/lecturer. Most likely I will use a normal white back drop, along with the aid of natural light with a normal bed side light with a thin film cover to make the light more white than orange, so it will be less dominant. After I will use Photoshop to correct color's and edit the white balance and lighting etc..
What props do you need?
The only props I'll need will be a clean white platform to place the product on, and clean back drop, some sort of film or colored sheet to place over the bedside light so the picture doesn't come out orange.
